Every year we work hard to get everything done their is never enough time we al want one more day. The holiday rush is everything it was cracked up to be no drought.
Every Year over $100 million dollars in property damage cause by fire. Precautionary measures need to be taken. It will be worth the extra time to check this.
Her are some helpful tips to keep your home and Family Safe.
Live Christmas Trees:A live tree can engulfed in flames in less then 5 seconds.
* They need water not when you think of it every day!
* The needles on your tree should be able to bend not break when touched.
* Never put your tree close to a fireplace or any other heat, it takes a second to catch fire, you will never know until it’s too late.
* Don’t put your live tree up to early.
* Take it down right after New Years to avoid drying out.
Pet Safety:
* The paws of your furry little guy are sure to take its toll with rock salt. They do make a pet friendly rock salt. Try pet smart at least for the walkway to your home.
* They also like to eat the salt so keep the path clear
* Pets love to chew on anything hanging make sure your lights and all this wires are safely out of the way. If you have to tape them to the carpet or wall to prevent any problems.
Candles:
* Make your first rule only light 2 candles at a time.
* Use tea candles just in case you forget they will go out in an hour or two.
If you are one of the rare people that love tinsel (I love the Look) remember to buy the “Lead-Free” kind.
Common Sense is a key factor in the safety of your family most information you already know.
Memories are the best part of the Holidays. Take some time to enjoy the moment while your in it. You never get to relive the moment

Investing In Women Awards Grant to Support Women in Business.
Investing In Women has awarded a $500 “stimulus package” to a woman owned business in New Jersey. This grant is to encourage women to start or grow businesses that will help the economy or improve lives.
Montclair NJ, November 9, 2009- Investing In Women has awarded their first grant to a woman owned business in the USA. The recipient of the award is Tanisha Cunningham, founder of The Underground Railroad to Success (www.railroad2success.com). The URS is a non-profit that provides a service to foster children aging out of the system to live independently as adults while becoming an integral part of society. This is great for foster children and also has a positive affect on our society as a whole.
“Aging out” is the term used for children who go into foster care, but are never returned to their families of origin or adopted by others. They stay in the system until they turn 18, or graduate from high school, and for the most part, are left to fend for themselves as best they can.
Tanisha Cunningham started URS in January of 2009. A child of foster care herself, she saw the need for foster kids to have additional support when they were no longer eligible for state run services. Soon after her foster care ended, she began a career in child welfare “I wanted to stay there because my passion had always been to give back, because I knew the struggles of living in foster care, and the fear of leaving unprepared, not having a place to go or having the skills to obtain a job.”
Investing In Women (www.iiWomen.com) is a free business resource site, grant program and marketing venue for entrepreneurs. The organization plans to offer several micro grants in 2010, including grants that are not awarded based on gender.

I wanted to blog about this topic because I think so many of you ladies ARE INCREDIBLE, and deserve to be used as an expert source or have your product/service featured in a magazine. Since I am on both sides of the pitching fence (as a “Source” and as a Radio Host/Writer), I wanted to share some tips on how to get national media exposure based on your response to a query.
Where can you find queries? Here’s my top 3 list: -
Savor the Success (for Premium Members)
HARO
Craigslist
By answering queries on the above listed and through years of trial and BIG error, I finally figured out ways to respond that have led to things like appearances on nationally syndicated shows, such as Rachael Ray, guest-hosting shows for Dish Network, being quoted as a source for many magazines and blogs, including Woman’s World as one of “America’s Ultimate Experts”. I also have responded for my clients and they have been quoted as a source, or products used, etc. (no- I’m not a publicist just a firm believer that if you’re passionate about what you do, the world needs to know about it, and I believe in every single one of my clients, so I like to help them spread their word, too!!).
And, now, on the other side of the fence, I have posted queries on HARO looking for guests for my Girls Night Out Radio Show, and each time I post I literally get HUNDREDS of responses. My radio inbox is flooded, and to be honest, unfortunately I don’t have the time to thoroughly read through all of these pitches. Imagine a reporter looking for a source for an article- they need a couple of lines, a few tips, and they get hundreds or even thousands of replies? Responses need to be formatted in a receiver-friendly way, or else they end up in the “deleted” bin.
So, the BIG question- how does one respond to a query effectively enough to get chosen? Now, of course, every editor/producer/journalist/writer/etc. has his or her own style, and it’s impossible to know exactly what catches his/her eye in a response, right? But, I think there are a couple of things that can increase your chances of staying in their inbox so you’ll be used as a “Source”.
1. Read the Query and Give Them Exactly What They Want
Often I’ve posted a query asking for specific things, and I get an inbox flooded with generic press releases about pitches off-topic. Maybe they’ll start with one unique sentence, and then it goes right into their generic press release. I am telling you, I know press releases can be expensive, and you want to use them, but if a query is asking for something specific, give it to them!! Nine out of ten times, a press release isn’t going to answer a specific question. For example, sometimes a query says to include specific personal details, like where you are from. They may be trying to get a mix of responses from experts around the country- so, if you forget to include

First, I want to thank you, my readers for your patience in my absence. I recently encountered a technical and physical challenge. This brings me to my post today. Due to my recent challenges, I had to fully rely on my assistant’s and put my trust in others to handle certain aspects of my business affairs and tasks that I normally handle myself.
Thank God that I had procedures in place that made that transition very easy. For example;
- my daily routine
- following my marketing and networking calendars
- procedure for contacting key people and clients and completing priority work
- sign ons and passwords
- financials
- continued work on projects in progress
To my wonderful readers who own small businesses, this is a very important tasks to complete TODAY! Take some time today to evaluate and put this in order, it will ELIMINATE UNNECESSARY stress. Make sure you have a trusted person(s) whom you can rely on. If you do not have person(s), then consider hiring a virtual assistant, it is worth the investment.
Of course some things will have to remain as is until you are able to tackle yourself, (this is a reality), however, the benefits are, that your business will not suffer, you will not lose any business, hopefully not, and you will keep your clients happy (very important). So, put your procedures book into play, place it where it can be found and go on about your business, lol.
Again, thank you for your patience. Until next time,
Alba

Stop thinking, “If I don’t do it, I won’t be perfect”. If you are anything like me, I said those words over and over again, until I learned that an extra pair of hands is necessary.
You had the great idea and successfully turned it into a business. You are quite busy, as a rep in the following departments of your company…not to mention taking care of your family and home:
Customer Service
Marketing & Advertising
Administrative
Ordering & Shipping
Telephone & Online Sales
Event Planning
Networking
IT & Computer Maintainence
Media
The feeling of overwhelm is not healthy or smart, however overwhelmed with greatness is 100% better. Having a virtual assistant on your team is a great amenity. He or she can help with smaller tasks that play a major role in the success of your business. These tasks may include, but are not limited to:
Publishing your newsletter
Maintaining your website and emails
Customer Service
Bookkeeping
Creating exel lists of your clients, inventory, networks, articles, and much more..
Share the task, come up for air, live the lifestyle you deserve, enjoy some peace and remember the reasons why you started your business.
Until next time…
To Your Success

Georgia Woodbine Tells All How To Stimulate Your Own Personal Economy
Your Obstacles Are Really Opportunities
What do you do? When you don’t know what to do? This time is an opportunity to evaluate where you are in your life and where you are trying to go. It’s really all about your perceptions and how you look at things. If you change the way you look at a situation, the situation changes. If you continue to look at things negatively, and continue to speak that things are getting worse then every move you make will be lead by negative energy and negative thoughts expecting the worst to happen and of course that will be the outcome. It’s time to look around and ask yourself how can you stretch your average way of thinking and focus on what good will come out of all the transitions that are taking place. We need to focus on what we can do differently to adjust to the temperature change of the economy and look around at the true meaning of living and not merely existing and ask ourselves: What have I done with my life, my time, my money and my resources to make a difference in the world.
In order to keep our mind free from all the baggage and junk we feed it everyday we have to consistently exercise positive self-talk and change the conversations we having with ourselves. Speaking Affirmations is a powerful tool that will create the life you want. Of course, this will take constant reminding and retraining of our mindset and thought process. Your affirmations should focus on what you want – not what you don’t want. Your affirmations will work best when they are linked to your greater life goals. The heavy resistance that’s keeps us back is fear of oneself and fear of the unknown. The unknown doesn’t have to be a bad thing, often times it’s a blessing in disguise.
There will be many seasons of changes of unexpected blows and circumstances that will totally catch you off guard. When things are abruptly snatched away from you, the first reaction is to have fear and panic. But when you reinvent your thought patterns and redirect your mind to draw positive energy from your pain. It will allow you to evolve into spiritual strength, growth and freedom.
You have to fight through this storm in your life and retrain your thought process and responses. It’s almost like your in a battlefield of the mind with yourself. The best way to overcome the fear you are having about the economy is to re-channel your energies to things that give you great joy. Start replaying the thoughts in your mind of all the things that bring you peace. Of course, it’s not an easy thing to do when all of your life someone somewhere has influenced your outlook on life telling you what to think, what to do and what you should be focused on achieving. But we have to relearn how to think outside our current reality, how to do things with the resources we have and how to achieve the things that are best suited with our natural gifts, skills and abilities.
The only thing that will remain constant in our lives is change. Nothing can change, if nothing moves. There will always be discomfort in transition. Things have transpire in order for transformation to occur. If things don’t shift or move we can’t grow as individuals. Coping is something we have to do to survive. We can’t allow anything to get so bad that we lose hope and want to give up. The are so many great things ahead that awaits us even though we go through the tribulations and the pain. We spend so much time trying to figure out what happened to our lives and why? Whatever you are going through will not last forever, this too shall pass.
It’s unfortunate that sometimes in life, we only move we are forced. Many times we get so used to being in our comfort zone that unless something forces you out of your job or situation we would always stay stagnant. There is more to your life, embrace this time as an opportunity to really live the life your were born to live.
Today, find one good thing in your day that happened to make you feel excited, happy and joyous. We have to keep that good thing as our area of focus instead of looking at all the things going wrong. Let us focus on our present moment and deal with our circumstances as they are now.
I encourage all of you out there is let go of your greatest fears: You are supposed to change your environment, don’t let your environment change you.

I think teaching kids about money should be in schools just like teaching kids and teens about reading, writing, and ABC’s. Why, because once you learn the basics of money and savings early then it would be effortless to continue the teaching and building upon what they have learned. Financial literacy for children will be far to easy to teach and cost less money when children are younger than waiting until they are freshman in college and being introduced, possibly, for the first time, with financial responsibilities.
When, I was in school I had to get my parents signature before I could get a credit card. Of course, now it is different. College students are bombarded with free trinkets just to fill out an application! Kids and teens should know that saving money is like brushing teeth or combing hair. It should be a habit. Parents are responsible for teaching their kids. But how? How can a parent who never learned themselves about being financially savvy, teach their kids and teens?
The United States has just started adding financial literacy in the schools. Each state has its own programs. Check with your state to see if there is a financial literacy program available. The Kid$ Money College is the only program that teaches kids from the ages of 5-18. The skills that are developed now will be crucial to the children’s future. The basic skills are counting money to the more advance skills are taught. Some of the lessons are, learning what is money, how to have great credit, investing and retirement planning.
Once the children learn to effectively manage the money process then they can possibly teach their parents about how to spend and save. In the meantime, kids need to understand money like they understand how to read, early.
